Maxine Elaine McGowan, 59, of Meadville, a homemaker, died unexpectedly, Monday, June 21, 1993, at Summit Medical Center in Frisco, CO, while vacationing in Colorado.
She was born in Franklin, February 23, 1934, a daughter of H. Chester and A. Lucille Mervin Check. She married Robert McGowan, March 2, 1957. He survives.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Kimberly) Leveto of Meadville; five sons, Robert McGowan, Jr. and Jerry McGowan, both of Guys Mills, Daniel McGowan of Meadville, Kevin McGowan of Titusville and Thomas McGowan of Cochranton; two brothers, Milton Check of Florida and A. F. (Rick) Check of Rocky Grove; and seventeen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Martin McGowan and two grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
