Merle James Hunter

Merle J. Hunter, 60, of Meadville, died suddenly Wednesday, July 24, 1996 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville, March 29, 1936 a son of Datus W. and Anna G. Swavey Hunter.  He married Darlene Jenkins on May 7, 1960.  Both his wife and his mother survive.

For the past eight years, he worked at Meadville Forging as a CNC operator.  Previously, he had worked at ABEX.  He was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include a son, Douglas Hunter of Townville; a daughter, Sandy Russell of Cochranton; a sister, Evengeline Fitzsimmons of Meadville; a brother, Walter Hunter of Meadville and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
