Michael Carl Kaputa

Michael Carl Kaputa, 75, of Guys Mills, died Thursday, June 18, 1987, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, following a sudden illness.

Mr. Kaputa was born in Uniontown, September 29, 1911, a son of Peter and Veronica Punday Kaputa.  He married Ann Gasper February 18, 1939.  She survives.

He was employed at the former American Viscose Co. as a spinner for 29 years.  He also was self-employed part-time as a farmer in Randolph Township.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Michael Kaputa, Jr. of Meadville, John A. Kaputa of Cochranton and James P. Kaputa of Guys Mills; four sisters, Miss Verna Kaputa of Meadville, Mrs. Leland (Anna) Morse of Pheonix, AZ, Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Doidge of St. Ann's, CA and Mrs. Merton (Helen) McQuiston of Painesville, OH; four brothers, Joseph Kaputa of Centerville, Pete Kaputa of Titusville, Frank Kaputa of Tionesta and John Kaputa of Centerville; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
