Mildred Mary Powell

Mildred Mary Powell, 78, of Meadville, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Rochester, NY, November 7, 1921, a daughter of the late Percy J. and Ethel V. More DeRouchie.  She married Charles W. Powell August 16, 1944.  He survives.

She attended New York Business School.  She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper at Powell Sanitation, the family business for 40 years, retiring in 1980.  She attended Calvary Baptist Church.  She especially enjoyed the area fairs, going to flea markets and being with family.  In her retirement, she would travel to Florida once a year to attend the various flea markets and then she would return in the summer to work the area fairs.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Donna Trypus of Meadville; three sons, Gary Powell of Meadville, Harold Powell of Saegertown and Tim Powell (Linda) of Meadville and eight grandchildren, Richard Trypus, Dana Osborne, Gary Powell, Jr., Rhonda Powell, Shavonne Powell, Eric Powell, Shawn Powell and Dustin Powell.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Roy and Percy DeRouchie.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
