Mildred V. Gartner, 86, of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, former head voting registrar of the county, died Friday, August 9, 1991, at the center, where she had resided since May 1986.
She formerly lived in Meadville.
She was born in Woodcock Township, January 22, 1905, a daughter of Plummer B. and Lucie Elvira Beatty Waid. She married Robert D. Gartner August 12, 1925. He survives.
She retired in 1970 after serving as head voting registrar since 1937. She also served eight years in the county registrar and recorder's office. She was a graduate of Meadville public schools and a 1924 graduate of Meadville Commercial College.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, also of the care center, include a brother, Preston B. Waid of Tempe, AZ; and two nieces, Mrs. Russell (Sharon) Kovac of Meadville and Mrs. Ronald (Susan) Harrison of Grove City.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
