Minnie L. Hammitt

Minnie L. Hamilton, 85, of Vernon Township, a former office worker, died Saturday, November 23, 1991, at Meadville Medical Center following a one-month illness.

She was born in Amanda, OH, October 3, 1906, a daughter of Beryl and Grace Bowers Lynn.  She married Russell M. Hammitt.  He preceded her in death in 1985.

She was an office worker at Beloit-Eastman Co. of Downingtown, and previously was employed as a sales clerk at J. C. Penney Co., Coatesville.  She was a member of CALN Civic Club, was a Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer and was a volunteer with the hospital auxiliary of Coatesville.

Survivors include a son, Gene M. Hammitt of Meadville; three sisters, Geraldine Sirbaugh, Mildred Redd and Eloise Swartz, all of Ohio; and a grandchild.  She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
