Myrta L. Darby

Mrs. Myrta L. Darby, 86, of Meadville, died at City Hospital, Tuesday evening, April 9, 1974, after a long illness.  She had been hospitalized two days.

A former resident of Jensen Beach, FL, Mrs. Darby resided in Meadville for the past seven years.  She was born at Knoxdale, Jefferson County, January 9, 1888, a daughter of Wilson and Minerva Rhodes Rodgers.  She married Albert O. Darby on January 9, 1909.  He died in 1967.  Mrs. Darby was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Priscilla Class of the church and of the Daughters of Union Veterans.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William J. (Blanche) Stright of Meadville; a son, William Howard Darby of Erie; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Bakley of Erie and Mrs. Marie Whalen of New Haven, CT; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
