Myrtle Boyd

Mrs. Myrtle Boyd, 89, of Guys Mills, former matron at the Crawford County Home, died Thursday, July 11, 1963, at the Graham Nursing Home, Guys Mills, after a long illness.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Randolph Township, April 20, 1874, a daughter of Gustavus and Eliza Utley Bentley.  She married the late John C. Boyd September 2, 1896.  She and her husband for many years operated a farm near Guys Mills and for 11 years had served as superintendent and matron at the county home.  She was a member of Guys Mills Congregational Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stuart (Ruth) Palmer of Sag Habor, Long Island, NY; two sons, Howard B. of Guys Mills and James G. of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Mable Lingo of Conneautville; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  A son, Orison F., preceded her in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
