Neil Arden Jones, age 88, of Saegertown, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Erie VA Medical Center.
He was born in Lewistown, PA on October 10, 1937, the son of Lyle and Evelyn (Hobbs) Jones.
He was a 1955 graduate of Meadville High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1959 and was in the National Guard. Following his military service, he completed the Talon Tool and Die apprenticeship program. On June 24, 1977, Neil married the former Judith Anne Boyer, she survives.
He was the owner/operator of Neil Jones Custom Products for over 40 years. Prior to that, he was employed at Talon Tool and Die, co-owned Devore Tool in Cochranton for four years, and was the owner of Foulk’s Bakery in Conneaut Lake for two years. Over many years he was involved in accuracy shooting and benchrest matches and was a champion benchrest shooter himself in 1971.
He was member of First Presbyterian Church and a life member of the NRA. He was also a 50-year member of the Meadville Masonic Lodge Post #408 serving as Master, High Priest of the Chapter, Commander of the Commandery, and Thrice Illustrious Master of the Council. Neil was a member of Kismet Grotto, Rotary International, and the Elks. He was a recipient of the York Rite Cross of Honor.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of 48 years; two children, Dean Jones of Texas, daughter-in-law Denise, daughter Natilie Prenatt (Lynn) of Saegertown; three step-children, Sheri Kurinko-Griffin (Jim) of Sebring, FL, Cindy Kurinko of Meadville, Richard Kurinko (Linda) of Conneaut Lake; a sister Kay Nageotte of Meadville; a brother, Lee Jones of Boone, NC; grandchildren: Hannah, Rylee, Elliot, Jessica, Zeke, Jaden, Ashley, Chiarra, Sophia, Sara, and Jimmy, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a step- daughter, Susan Kurinko, and two brothers Lyle and Gary and Laura Jones, sister-in-law Marie, and brother-in-law Jim.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Benjamin Black, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. A Masonic service by Lodge Post #408 and Meadville VFW Post #2006 will render military honors at the beginning of the service.
Inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
