Otis C. Durfee

Otis C. Durfee, 72, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Tuesday, December 28, 1982, after a long illness.

Mr. Durfee was born at Cleveland January 4, 1910, son of Thomas and Geneva Gazely Durfee.  He married Katherine Bowes June 24, 1933.  He was employed as a storeroom attendent, retiring in 1974 after 38 years with the former American Viscose Corp.  He was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church and a graduate of Townville public schools.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. R. James (Mary Lou) Gurnee of Meadville; four sons, David L., Sr. of Saegertown, Thomas A. of Albion, Mark O. of Erie and Rev. John B. Durfee, a missionary in Haiti; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Byers of Cleveland and Betty Jean Barnett of Parma Heights, OH; two brothers, Erwin Durfee of Ormond Beach, FL and Richard Durfee of Holly Hill, FL; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Otis C., Jr. and a brother, Robert.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kingsley Cemetery.
