Patricia L. Mihailov

Patricia L. Mihailov, age 86, of Guys Mills, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, June 28, 2026, at her home.

Patty was born in Freedom Township, Portage County, OH, on October 25, 1939, the daughter of D. Daniel and Mildred (Peppeard) Strawman.

After graduating from James A. Garfield High School in 1958, Patty went on to Malone College, earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She started her teaching career in the early sixties in the Portage County School System at Nelson Elementary School where she continued until her marriage when she moved to PA. Throughout the years she continued to serve as a substitute teacher in the local schools. Patty was also a faithful children’s church teacher at Lyona Bible Church for many years.

On June 17, 1967, Patricia married Eli Mihailov, Jr. and moved to Guys Mills, PA where they enjoyed 48 years of marriage before Eli’s passing in 2015.

Patty loved being surrounded by her family and always welcomed out-of-town guests to her home in the country. She was an excellent seamstress, decorator and homemaker. She even designed and made her own wedding dress. One of the highlights of her life was winning the 4-star Homemaker Award at the Crawford County Fair in 1987. Throughout the years she made many entries in gardening, canning, baking and sewing, being awarded for her skill and hard work. Her most prized entry was the bridal collection she designed, and hand made for her daughter’s wedding, including all the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses and elegant wedding gown.

She is survived by a son, Elroy Mihailov of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Elizabeth Wentworth (Todd) of Jamestown, NY; daughter-in-law Michele Mihailov of Guys Mills, PA; seven grandchildren, Katey Sanzo (Nicholas), Karlee Perrett (Jacob), John Stigerwalt (Samantha), Dylan Mihailov (Emily), Emily Wentworth, Tanner Wentworth, Eli Wentworth; three great-grandchildren, Aden Stigerwalt, Kennedy Stigerwalt, Brielle Stigerwalt; and two sisters-in-law, Karen Strawman and Desta Stevens; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eli; son, Patrick Mihailov; infant son, Eli Mihailov III; grandson, Dean Mihailov; sister, Barbara Grafton; and brother David John Strawman.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE, PA. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM with Dave Jewell, nephew of Patty’s, officiating. Burial will be in Radle Cemetery, Guys Mills, PA.
