Patti Ann Opitz

Patti A. Opitz, 73, of Stoneboro, passed away on August 15, 2026 at Quality Life Services in Grove City. She was born on June 8, 1953 to parents John E. Smith Jr. and V. Louise Morrison (Eaton).

Patti graduated from Franklin High School in 1971. She was a member of the Stoneboro Methodist Circle of Faith. She married her husband David A. Opitz on July 30, 1983 and after retirement they enjoyed a honeymoon vacation to Hawaii, Alaska, and the Caribbean. Patti retired from Polk Center after 33 and a half years of service as a medical transport.

Patti is survived by two children, Dustin F. Opitz (daughter-in-law Melissa Opitz) and Tanya Stephan (son-in-law Eric Stephan); four grandchildren, Justice R. Opitz, Jayda R. Opitz, Alana M. Fry, and Jon M. Stephan; five great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth D. “Butch” Smith; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and one uncle James Porter.

Patti is preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; and two sisters, Katie Schmidt and Barb E. Miley.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro where visiting will be on Monday August 24, 2026 from 5pm – 7pm with a memorial service at 7pm with Pastor Janet Pratt officiating.
