Paul (Chay) Goodman

Paul (Chay) Goodman, 73, of Meadville, died Monday, June 8, 1987 at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Goodman was born at Venus, PA on March 1, 1914, a son of McClelland and Maude Thompson Goodman.  He was raised at the Meadville Odd Fellows Home.

He married Virginia Smith on November 28, 1934.  He retired from Abex in 1977 where he had been employed as an inspector.  He previously had worked briefly at Viscose and following his retirement was a security guard at Lord Corp. in Saegertown.  He was a member of the Wayland Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Harrington (Joanne) Smith of Girard and Mrs. William (Marlene) Hollabaugh of Meadville; a son, William P. Goodman of Meadville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelma Schrum and Ortha Withers and two brothers, Gilbert and Jerry Goodman.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
