Pauline Hulsizer, 92, formerly of Harmonsburg and a resident of Hillside Home since 1988 and Rolling Fields Nursing Home from 1994-1999, died Thursday, March 16, 2000 at Wesbury United Methodist Community, following a period of declining health.
She was born in Oil City, January 12, 1908, a daughter of the late Carl and Florence Meyer Willoughby. She married Verne L. Hulsizer, June 1, 1925 and he preceded her in death February 20, 1959.
She worked as a production worked at Talon from 1932-1957, at which time she and her husband moved to Florida. Following her husband's death in 1959, she returned to Meadville and worked for 15 years at Ardis Dress and Beauty Shop retiring in 1975. In her retirement, she grew African Violets for sale at the Market House. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Donald Hulsizer (Lorriane) of Lakeland, FL; two daughters, Mrs. John Gordon (Marian) Phelps of Meadville and Mrs. William (Harriet) Whitley of Cheyenne, WY; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marguerite Hughes and Betty Turner and two brothers, John Willoughby and Hugo Willoughby.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
