Raymond W. Pokrywka

Raymond W. Pokrywka, 87, of Espyville, died May 7, 2009 at his residence.

He was born in Munhall July 16, 1921, a son of Frank and Anna Bernett Pokrifka.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and worked in production at U.S. Steel, Homestead.  He was a member of Munhall V.F.D.#1, Conneaut Lake V.F.D.#3 and enjoyed woodworking and Indy Car racing.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Dorothy Kostovny of West Mifflin and Marcella Dospoy of Espyville; 4 brothers, John Pokrifka of Clarion, Sylvester Pokrifka of Pittsburgh, and Anthony and Eugene Pokrifka of Munhall; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date.
