Rev. J. Brent Cook

The Rev. J. Brent Cook, 80, treasurer of the Erie Conference of the Methodist Church for 25 years, died last night at City Hospital, where he had been a surgical patient for 27 days.

His wife, Anna, died June 28 at the Cribbs Home, where they had lived for the past three years.

The Rev. Mr. Cook was born August 7, 1875, near Phillipsville, in Erie County.  He attended public schools in Erie County and Allegheny College, 1896-97.

He became a member of the West Virginia Conference in 1898 and returned to the Erie Conference in 1902.  He served the pastorates of Guys Mills and Venango in Crawford County.

Other pastorates were Tenth Street, Erie; Rouseville, Sheffield and Little Valley, Cattaraugus and Falconer in New York State.

The Rev. Mr. Cook retired from the ministry and post of Conference minister in a number of Meadville churches.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
