Richard Allen Chimiak

Richard Allen (Rick) Chimiak, 56, of Meadville, died peacefully and Jesus took him home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a courageous 20-year battle with Hemochromatosis.

Rick was born February 23, 1967, in Johnstown, a son of Robert Chimiak and Shirley Anne (Miller) Chimiak Byers.  He married Diane Cease on October 7, 1989.

Rick was a 1986 graduate of Meadville High School.  He worked for over 36 years at Grede formerly Advanced Cast Products.  He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, enjoyed rifle and archery hunting, fishing, and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Diane, include a son, Aaron Chimiak of Meadville; his mother, Shirley Byers of Meadville; siblings, Cecilia Byrd (Charles) of Meadville, Bob Chimiak of Mercer, Dan Chimiak of Grove City, and Terri Chimiak of Meadville; his in-laws, David and Carol Cease of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Deborah Nichols of Meadville; nieces and nephews, Matthew Werner, Becky Michael, David-Michael Ramey, Zane Chimiak, Shelby Chimiak, Jake Chimiak, Myah Chimiak, and Andreanna Burnett; great-nieces and great-nephews, Axel Chimiak, Griffin Chimiak, Clayton Werner, Claudia Kynerd (Cole), Elton Michael, and Elise Michael; a great-great-niece, Camryn Kynerd; and Rick’s father’s companion, Roseanne Piccolo and her children.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 7th from 12-1:30 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a Celebration of Rick’s life will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Debbie Carpenter officiating.
