Richard (Dick) Eugene Litwiler, age 92, of Conneaut Lake, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at Wesbury.
Born on January 30th, 1933, in Meadville, Dick was the beloved son of the late Charles Earl and Wilda Hays Litwiler. A 1951 graduate of North Shenango High School, Dick worked alongside his father in construction and home remodeling, a trade that instilled in him a strong work ethic and pride in craftsmanship.
In 1956, Dick answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army. He spent two years stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1958, continuing to serve an additional two years in the active reserves. Upon returning home, he went on to work as a service technician for Sears, later contributing his skills at Ralston’s Hardware Store. He completed his working years at Sanray Corporation.
On October 18th, 1958, Dick married the love of his life, Beverly Adsit, who survives him. Their enduring marriage of over 66 years was a testament to deep love, respect, and unwavering commitment.
Dick was a man of many talents and even greater heart. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose life was grounded in family, love, and service to his community. He served as president of the Conneaut Lake Youth Association and was instrumental in acquiring the land that became the Sadsbury Recreational Fields-leaving a legacy that will benefit generations of children to come.
His greatest joy was with his family. He was never happier than when he was gathering for holidays and cheering on his grandchildren at every sporting event. Dick also found joy in woodworking, riding his tractor, dancing to polka music with Beverly, and traveling to Florida and Colorado.
In addition to his beloved wife, Beverly, Dick is survived by his three sons: Tracy Litwiler and his fiancée, Cindy Zuccaro, Kevin (Mary) Litwiler, and Craig (Amy) Litwiler. He leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Devin (Teja) Litwiler, Trevor (Shelly) Litwiler, Amber (Matthew) Jacobs, Challen (Zachary) Culbertson, Scott Litwiler, and Mark Litwiler; and six adored great-grandchildren: Emaline and Holden Litwiler, Trace Litwiler, Noah and Maelen Jacobs, and Tucker Culbertson, and two special cousins Bob (Marsha) and Duane (Marie) Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, his sister Delores Elaine (Gerry Zaelsky), and his brother and sister-in law Gordan and Mary Adsit.
Dick’s life was a reflection of kindness, humility, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know and love him.
