Robert E. Carlson, 84, of Jackson Center, passed away on May 6, 2026 at UPMC Jameson surrounded by family. He was born on June 11, 1941 to parents Carl W. Carlson and Nellie E. Barr.
Robert married his wife Cheryl A. Egger on April 24, 1965.
He served his country in the Airforce from 1960 – 1964 and stayed in the Reserves until 1966. He worked for Sharon Steel for over 20 years and was a member of the Vincent New Beginnings Church in Jackson Center.
He loved spending time with family, especially going on vacations together. He enjoyed collecting and could fix anything.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; three daughters, Margaret (Douglas) Hilton, of Greenville, Traci (Jay) Carlson, of Stoneboro, and Jody (Michael) Dehner, of Stoneboro; six grandchildren, Robert (Celia) Hilton, Ashley (Kevin) West, Matthew (Kelly) Carlson, Sean Carlson, Jacob (Crystal) Drew, and Lauren (Joey) Drew; six great grandchildren, Colette, Hayes, Graham, Archie, Oliver, and a new baby great grandchild on the way; a twin brother, Richard (Linda) Carlson; three sisters, Judith (Ivan) Teets, Donna (Arden) Peters, and Linda (Jim) O’Rouke; a sister-in-law Edith Carlson; and a large extended family.
Robert is preceded in death by both his parents; a brother, Carl Carlson; and a sister, Sandra Kostas.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND BLACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro where visitation will take place on Sunday May 10th from 4pm – 7pm. A service will take place on Monday May 11th at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Janet Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jackson Center.
Contributions may be made to Vincent New Beginnings Food Pantry in Robert’s name at P.O. Box #7, Jackson Center.
