Robert H. Bode, 73, of Meadville, died Tuesday, October 8, 1974, at Meadville City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born at Pittsburgh July 15, 1901, a son of William A. and Anna Funk Bode. He married Beatrice Markham on April 19, 1922.
He was self-employed as a building contractor. He and Mrs. Bode were owners and operators of Bob & Bea's Restaurant in the 1940's. They then operated the Venango Hotel until 1958. He was a member of New Richmond United Methodist Church and of the Bricklayers Union Local 87.
He is survived by his widow; a son, William A. Bode of Guys Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Proctor of New Orleans, LA, Mrs. Wilma Knectel of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Emma Ushkarat of Clairton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Lois Wells.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
