Robert M. (Red) Rhodes

Robert M. (Red) Rhodes, 76, of Meadville, retired barber, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 22, 1992.

He was born in Tyrone, May 1, 1915, a son of Fred and Elizabeth Chandler Rhodes.  He married Mildred Brutcher, August 20, 1938.  She survives.

He was a barber on North Street for 50 years.  He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.  He was a member and past executive ruler of Meadville Elks Lodge 219, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Meadville Club, Masonic Lodge 408 and a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Navy.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Sue) Bogardus of Hartsville, SC; a brother, William Rhodes of Tyrone and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Rhodes and a sister, Elsie West.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
