Rodney E. Krider, 78, of Meadville, a retired electrician, died Monday, December 14, 1992, at Wesbury United Methodist Community following an extended illness.
He was born in Vernon Township, September 11, 1914, a son of Elmer and Marjorie Thatcher Kreiter. He married Winifred Baird. She preceded him in death in 1973. He subsequently married Violet Curtis Wiltrout, September 20, 1975. She survives.
He had been a resident of Wesbury since August.
He was an electrician at the former Avtex plant, retiring in 1978 after 44 years. He was a member of Watson Run United Church of Christ and a life member of Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Duane M. Krider of Erie and Donald M. Krider of Fort Worth, TX; three step-daughters, Frances Dunn and Margaret Yoder, both of Meadville and Shirley Soth of Edinboro; two step sons, John Wiltrout of Meadville and Willard Wiltrout of Osceola, AZ; two grandchildren; seventeen step-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
