Rose Marie Rager

Rose Marie Rager, Hermitage, Pa. passed away peacefully Thursday (8-28-25) in Whispering Oaks after an extended illness. She was 86.

Born October 7, 1938 in Jeanette, Pa, she was a daughter of Harry W. and Angelina Marie DelGross Young.

She married her beloved husband of 53 years, Donald G. Rager, Sr. on January 21, 1956, and he preceded her in death May 30, 2009.

Rose worked many years at the G.C. Murphy Store, Mercer, then was an administrative assistant at Penn State Shenango and Thiel College, Greenville.

Most of all Rose was a loving wife and a homemaker for her six children. She loved her family with open arms and always gave unconditional love to all. She was nonjudgemental and cherished the lives of all the people in her life. She was a classy lady always dressing to the “T” and wearing her favorite lipstick.

Rose was a devout Christian and longtime member of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, Stoneboro and she also attended Cedar Avenue Church of God, Sharon and Calvary Baptist Church, Mercer.

Rose will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Donna (Walter) Fetty, Donald G. (Patty Ann) Rager, Jr., Beatrice “Lori” (Dan) Morsillo and Karen Brodie along with sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also three siblings: Mary (Tom) Keaton, Harry Young and Phillip Young. She also leaves a special friend of fourteen years Wesley Hampton.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Cheryl L. Rager and Rhoda R. Pe, grandchildren: Amber Rose Rager and Donald D. Murdock and great-grandchildren AJ Fetty and Pauly Likens, Jr. and son-in-law Walter Brodie.

Visitation: 3-6 PM, Thursday (9-4-25) in Rose & Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro, Pa.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM, Friday (9-5-25) in St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, 70 Franklin St., with Father Raymond Gramata as Celebrant.

Interment: Hadley Cemetery, Hadley, Pa.
