Roy N. Wheeler, 66, of Polk, Pa passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born in Mercer, Pa on December 28, 1959 to parents William H. and Norma J. (Perry) Wheeler.

Roy attended Franklin High School until 1977. For the next 26 years he worked for his dad’s trucking company W. H. Wheeler Excavating and then drove for two more years for himself. He also did scrapping; collecting aluminum, copper, and other scrap metals.

On June 13, 1986, a Friday, he married his current wife, Susan Myers and they celebrated 40 years together.

Roy loved playing darts with his buddies on Tuesday’s in his garage with Sue keeping score. He loved when his friend would make him chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting on special occasions and receiving cupcakes from his neighbors. Roy also enjoyed fishing with his buddies at Sandy Lake, shooting guns, and coin collecting. He looked forward to watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR races.

Roy is survived by his wife, Susan; four children, Mendy Wheeler, of Franklin, Chastity and spouse Jason McMillen, of Franklin, Harold Wheeler, of Polk, and Melody Wheeler, of Polk; 19 grand children; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Ed McCool, of Polk; a brother-in-law, Gary Myers, of Franklin; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and many very good friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ron McCool; and a sister, Darcy (Wheeler) Rodkey.

The family would like to thank his close friends, Lakeview Helping Hands of Stoneboro, the doctors and staff of Grove City Medical Center, the visiting nurses and hospice staff at Aseracare, and Rose and Black Funeral Home for all the help during Roy’s final days.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro. As per Roy’s wishes there will be no services but the family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
