Russell S. Reisinger, 90, of Meadville, died Friday, November 3, 2000 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.
He was born August 26, 1910 in Deckards, a son of the late Elmer and Katherine Barnhart Reisinger. He married Kathryn M. Sankey December 8, 1945 and she preceded him in death February 15, 1991.
He was a US Navy Veteran Seabee of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Prior to World War II, he worked at Erie Forge and Steel as a supervisor. He subsequently worked at Westinghouse of Meadville as a bricklayer and then was self-employed, owning and operating Reisinger's Tree Service and Stump Removal. He was a member of Cochranton American Legion Post 836. He especially enjoyed working outdoors.
He was of the Presbyterian Faith.
Survivors include a son, Scott Allen Reisinger (Nita) of Houston, TX; twin granddaughters, Melinda Adams in Houston, TX and Amanda Matty of Atlanta, GA; and four sisters, Irene Cook of Meadville, Hazel Beuchat (Carl) of Cochranton; Bernice Colwell of Stoneboro and Mary Curtis of Westlake, OH.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Reisinger and a sister, Grace Coon.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Venango Cemetery.
