Ruth Lorraine Jones Phillips

Ruth Lorraine Jones Phillips, 73, of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, a former school teacher, died Thursday, August 27, 1992, at Wesbury following an extended illness.

She was born in Marlette, MI, March 17, 1919, a daughter of Charles Truman and Nellie Collins Bishop.  She married Martin W. Jones, who preceded her in death.

She was a school teacher in Meadville area schools for 35 years, retiring in 1982 at Neason Hill School.

She was a graduate of Cooley High School and Wayne State University, both of Detroit, MI.  She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ann Munoz of Cucnca, Equador; a sister, Florence Westfall of St. Augustine, FL; a brother, Charles Bishop of Detroit, MI and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
