Sally J. Powell

Sally J. Powell, 78, of Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born June 20, 1925 in Koppel, PA a daughter of David E. and Ursula McDanel Peirce.  She married Clarence E. "Jim" Powell June 29, 1946 and he survives.

After graduating from Meadville High School in 1942, she worked at Talon, Inc. until 1957 and subsequently worked at the former Meadville Telephone Co. from 1960-1972.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Meadville Grottoettes, Order of Eastern Star and she enjoyed reading and bowling.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 57 years, include two daughter, Jane Peterson (Robert) of Linesville and Diane McGill of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Jamie McGill, Michelle Minnick and Jeremy Peterson; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bailey Minnick and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Desse Hight and two brothers, David Peirce, Jr. and Joseph Peirce.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
