Sandra R. Walker, 68, of Meadville, died Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Crawford County Care Center.
She was born January 5, 1938 in Saginaw, MI, a daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Lee Fraser. She had been married to Brooks R. Walker of Gunnison, CO and he preceded her in death.
She lived in several states throughout the country, including Rhode Island for 23 years. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Psychology. Her interests included reading science fiction and fantasy, horses, dogs, particularly collies, and protecting and preserving the environment and humanity.
She was a long time member of the Unitarian Universalists Churches.
Survivors include 2 sons, John S. Walker and his wife Margaret Gately and Robert A. Walker, all of Rhode Island; a daughter, Kate R. Walker and her husband Mark E. Gorman of Meadville; a brother, Ronald Fraser and his wife Harriet of Minneapolis, MN; and 5 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Fraser of Chicago, the previous day.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 346 Chestnut St., Meadville with the Rev. Kate R. Walker, Pastor and daughter officiating.
