Shirley Ellen Nagel, 93, of Stoneboro, PA, passed away on December 18th, 2025 at her residence. She was born January 17th, 1932 to parents Quinn Ellery and Iva Elizabeth (Reed) Hefferman.
Shirley married her husband James Herman Nagel on June 9th, 1986 and was affiliated with Unity of Faith Church in Stoneboro, PA. She spent her working days as a nursing assistant to Dr. Burke in his office.
Shirley greatly enjoyed being around family especially her grandchildren. She loved cooking up a big meal for everyone. She also loved telling stories, feeding her birds, and taking care of her flowers. Shirley and her husband also traveled all over the world and especially enjoyed St. Maarten in the Caribbean.
Shirley is survived by two children, Jacki Opitz (Bob) and Donnie Harrison (Kathy); stepson, Mark Nagel (Liz); two step daughters, Deborah Ward and Kathleen Zych; ten grandchildren, Travis Opitz (Chelle), of Hadley, Brandi Opitz (Roger), of Stoneboro, Ashley Anisansel (Brian), of North Carolina, Weston Harrison (Michaela), of Grove City, Valerie Schlabach (Joseph), of Cochranton, Monica Hoffman (Tyler), of Stoneboro, Kayla Harrison, of Stoneboro, Kevin Nagel (Tori), Andy Nagel, and Shawn Nagel, all of New Jersey; she is further survived by 17 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Nagel; and two great grandsons, James Harrison and Jaxson Anisansel.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROSE AND BLACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where services will be private.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
