Sophia Ewing Harter

Mrs. Sophia Ewing Harter, 80, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Wednesday morning, September 3, 1958, after a long illness.  She had been a resident of Meadville since 1920.

Mrs. Harter was born in East Mead Township, November 6, 1877, a daughter of James and Fannie Byham Ewing, and was married to the late John P. Harter in 1925.

She was a member of Stone Methodist Church and a member of the Beacon Light Class of the Church School.

She is survived by two sisters,  Mrs. Charlotte Ash and Mrs. Adelaide Papenfuse, both of Meadville; a brother, J. C. Ewing of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Ewing Cemetery, East Mead Township.
