Sylvester A. “Uncle Wes” Miller, age 92, of Conneaut Lake passed away Friday afternoon May 23, 2025, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Pittsburgh on December 28, 1932, the son of Nicholas and Anna (Lang) Miller.
He was a 1951 graduate of Gladstone High School where he was the class president and served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was employed as a computer support technician at IBM for over 30 years. He was an active member of Our Lady Queen of the America’s Church, Conneaut Lake where he served as an usher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, walking in the woods with his dogs, and hosting family reunions.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Agnew Miller; eight nieces and nephews, Donny Elias and his wife Lori Jo, Kathy Schnarre and her husband Mark, Edward Miller and his wife Cathy, Daniel Elias and his wife Donna, Diane Hall and her husband Jay, Larry Miller and his wife Sarah, Rick Miller and his wife Carol, Russ Miller, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, Leona Latin, Othmar Miller, Marie Elias, and Norbert Miller, two nephews, David Elias and Ronald Miller: a God daughter, Dolores Santoro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 5-30-25 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of the America’s Church, 155 S. 9th St., Conneaut Lake with Rev. David Carter, Pastor of the church as celebrant. Family and friends will be received on Thursday 5-29-25 from 4:00-6:00 PM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC. 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE. Burial will be in Our Lady Queen of the America’s Church where Meadville VFW Post #2006 will render military honors.
