Thomas C. Greggs, 73 of Stoneboro, passed away on November 30, 2022. Tom was born in Franklin on January 11, 1949 to the late Charles T. & Geraldine (Ream) Greggs. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School. He completed his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker and machinist at Werner Company and worked there for another 10 years. He then worked for the next 33 years at Sharon Tube, retiring in 2010.
Tom was an accomplished craftsman and gunsmith, learning the trade from the late Charlie Tebor. He was an accomplished skeet shooter, and placed at the top of his class at the state meet for several years and was recognized for tying an existing world record by shooting a perfect 200 at the state meet in 1983 along with his shooting partner, the late Cecil Smith, Jr. He was a member of the Sandy Lake Sportsman’s Club and a member and past President of Jackson Field and Stream. He was also a member of Lake Myrtle Lodge #316. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He also loved taking trips to the casino with his wife. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Tom married his beloved wife Sheree (Doyle) Greggs on April 1, 1967, she survives at home. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons; Charles (Christina) Greggs of Stoneboro and T.J. (Aaron) Greggs-Edwards of Conyers, GA, granddaughter; Zoe Greggs, and his beloved dog; Ivy.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his longtime dog companions, Rudy & Bunny.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 3 pm – 6 pm on Monday, December 5. A funeral will follow visitation at 6 pm with the Rev. Randy Ritchey, officiating.
Private interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery
