Thomas G. Lovewell, Sr.

Thomas G. Lovewell, Sr. age 91, of Hartstown, passed away Thursday evening January 8, 2026, at UPMC Jameson, New Castle.

He was born in Erie on January 14, 1934, the son of Milton and Hazel (Millar) Lovewell.

He was a 1952 graduate of Fort LeBeuf High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. On June 25, 1955, Tom married the former Audrey Himrod; she survives.

He was employed as a supervisor of transportation and cafeteria supervisor at Northwestern School District for 20 years and was the owner/operator of Lovewell Meat Market. As a teenager he worked at Glenwood pony track in Erie.

Tom was a member of Woodcock United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years; a daughter, Carole Strite of Mercersburg, PA; a son, John Lovewell and his wife Jamie of Greenville; a granddaughter, Rebecca; three grandsons, Brian (Krista), Johnny, and Matthew; four great grandchildren, Gavin, Maddox, Beckett, and Reagan.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son Thomas G. Lovewell, Jr.

Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the time of services in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in McMichael’s Cemetery, Atlantic where Meadville VFW Post # 2006 will render military honors.
