Thomas M. Murray

Thomas M. Murray, age 89, of Atlantic, passed away on Friday morning January 16, 2026, at the Embassy of Park Avenue.

Tom was born in Sharon on February 24, 1936, the son of Thomas and Mildred (Small) Murray. On June 6, 1959, Thomas married the former Norma J. Carr, she passed away on June 26, 2024.

He was a 1954 graduate of Sharpsville High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree from Youngstown State University in 1961, followed by a Master’s degree in Education from Edinboro University in 1974. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Alaska.

He dedicated many years to public service and education, most notably as a music educator in Geneva, OH, and Conneaut Lake High School, retiring in 1993. He later continued his service to the community through the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, working as an assistant manager in Linesville until his retirement in 2001.

Tom was a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and found great joy in flower gardening.

He is survived by three sons, Thomas J. Murray and his wife Tana of Longmont, CO, Nicholas S. Murray of Harrisburg and Mark A. Murray of Atlantic; two grandchildren Scott T. Murray and Megan Dawson; two great-grandchildren, Jasper and Daisy Dawson.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Per Tom’s request there will be no services.
