V. Vere Shaffer, 83, attended Barton Road Brethren in Christ Church, Meadville, and had been a member of the Mt. Hope Grange and Rebekah Lodge at Diamond.
Shaffer, of Guys Mills, died Thursday, August 11, 1994, at Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown following a brief illness.
She was born in Oil City, January 29, 1911, a daughter of Ross R. and Lillian P. Rhoads Reed. She married Clarence N. (Pete) Shaffer, September 2, 1929. He preceded her in death November 29, 1988.
Survivors include a son, Norman W. Shaffer of Guys Mills; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Thomas of Greenville; a sister, Argyle M. Carll of Oil City; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda K. Shaffer and two sisters, Roberta Reed and Lorraine Cheers.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
