V. Wally Eiler
December 30, 1915 — October 19, 1979
V. Wally Eiler, 63, of Meadville, died at home Friday, October 19, 1979, following an extended illness.
He was born in Meadville, December 30, 1915, son of V. W. and Clara Grotefend Eiler. He married Virginia Minnis June 7, 1940.
Eiler was the former owner of Meadville Sporting Goods for 27 years, selling it in 1978. He previously worked at Talon Division of Textron for 18 years.
Eiler was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 219, West Mead 2 Volunteer Fire Department, Black Ash Sportsmen's Club and Ducks Unlimited.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Monyeene) Weston of Meadville and Mrs. Jack (Debby) Davies of Baldwinsville, NY; two sons, Val W. of Meadville and Ronni of Philipsburg; two sisters, Mrs. H. F. (Pauline) Krueger of Nashville, TN and Mrs. John (Kay) Tetterburg of Williamsville, NY and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
