Verna M. Miller

Verna M. Miller, 85, a resident of Hillside Home, Meadville, formerly of Blooming Valley, died at the home Saturday, July 15, 1995, following an extended illness.

She was born in Pittsburgh, July 23, 1909, a daughter of Clinton J. and Loretta Smith McNarmara.  She married J. Conrad Miller on June 29, 1938, and he preceded her in death December 25, 1982.

She was a 1933 graduate of Edinboro State Normal School.  She was a teacher at Saegertown Elementary School and prior to that taught at Wayland and substitute taught at several county schools, having 25 years of teaching service.

She had been a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church and a former Sunday School teacher.  She was a member of the Retired Teachers Assn. and of the National Education Assn.

Survivors include two sons, John C. Miller of Cambridge Springs and David C. Miller of Guys Mills; a brother, A. D. McNamara of Meadville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce McNamara.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Wayland Cemetery.
