Virgil V. (Sue) Mcconnell

Virgil V. (Sue) McConnell, 89, a resident of the Crawford Co. Care Center, Saegertown and formerly of Waterville, died Tuesday, October 6, 1998 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

She was born May 22, 1909 in New Castle, a daughter of the late John and Sergie Enick Hughes.  She married Frederick M. McConnell in 1930.  He preceded her in death July 8, 1996.

Mrs. McConnell worked as a Secretary for the James F. Kemp Roofing and Heating Co. of Clairton.  She especially enjoyed taking care of her family.

Survivors include a son, Fred J. McConnell of Linesville; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Madelaine Mars and Esther Hughes.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roundhill Cemetery.
