Ward M. Applegate
December 11, 1886 — April 28, 1961
Ward M. Applegate, 74, Guys Mills, died at City Hospital at 2:15 a.m. Friday, April 28, 1961.
He was born in Randolph Township December 11, 1886, a son of John S. and Sarah Bernette Applegate and married the former Fern Cutshall December 11, 1906.
He was employed by the Erie Railroad Car Shop, Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., and lately as a farmer.
For more than 35 years he was a member of the Randolph Grange.
Surviving besides his widow are five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Margaret) McCarl, Mrs. G. W. (Lurlie) Rickard, Mrs. C. G. (Ruth) Grundy, Mrs. Helen Wygant and Mrs. William (Juanita) Bowdoin; a son, Harley Applegate; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Waid Funeral Home with Rev. Walter J. Thomas, officiating.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
