William Darby

William Darby, 92, who recently made his home with a son, Albert of Meadville, and with a daughter, Mrs. Walter Cole, also of Meadville, died Monday at City Hospital.

He was born in England in 1861 and came to the United States in 1888.  He settled in the McKeesport area, where he was employed in steel mills for many years.  He moved to Meadville in 1934.

Mr. Darby was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Besides his son and daughter, he is survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a brother in England.  His wife, Emily, died in 1943.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg.
