William F. Close

William F. Close, 65, formerly of Conneaut Lake and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died there Wednesday, February 7, 2007.

He was born in New York, NY March 17, 1941, a son of the late Erving William and Helen McGuigan Close.

He was a US Army and Merchant Marine Corps Veteran.  He previously provided transportation to people and sold produce.  He enjoyed making guitars and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include a son, Andrew P. Close of Ware, MA; two daughters, Erin and Kelly Close of Butler; a sister, Helen Close Grindall (Jon); a brother, Daniel T. Close (Marie) of Arden, NC and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Bridgette Close and a sister, Betty Porter.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
