William J. Gray

William J. Gray, 46, of Meadville, died Friday, November 24, 1989, at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Mr. Gray was born in Erie on November 4, 1943, a son of Joseph G. (Bud) and Eileen Sweitzer Gray.  He married Cynthia (Cindy) Cowden on October 25, 1975.   She survives.

He was a partner in the Smith-Gray Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Nissan dealership.  He was a graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School and Gannon University, and was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church.  He also was a member of the Country Club, Iroquois Club, and former member of the Meadville board of incorporators of the former Spencer Hospital.  He was also a member of the current Board of Corporators of Meadville Medical Center.  He served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Jennifer Gray of Meadville; his mother, Eileen Gray Traut of Meadville; one sister, Carol Ann Gray of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Richard T. and David A. Gray, both of Meadville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Agatha's Cemetery.
