William L. Oakes

Apr 3, 1868 — Mar 4, 1940

William L. Oakes, well known farmer of Randolph Township, died early today at his home in Mt. Hope.  He was a member of Mt. Hope Methodist Church.  His death followed a long illness.

He is survived by his widow and one son, Harold; four daughters, Mrs. Kerna Wentworth, Harry L. Wentworth, Mrs. Rae Byham, Mrs. Floyd Smith and Mrs. William Cutshall, all of Randolph Township; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Gilbert and Mrs. Austa Virtue of Randolph Township; two brothers, Arthur Oakes of Canadensis and Harley Oakes of Wayne Township.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
