William Stanley Walker

William Stanley Walker, 68, of Meadville, was dead on arrival at City Hospital Monday night, October 23, 1967, apparently a victim of a heart attack suffered while bowling last night.

He was a member and past officer of many Western Pennsylvania civic and social groups.

Mr. Walker was born in Pittsburgh on October 18, 1899, a son of John and Seana Fullerton Walker.  He married the former Dorothy Van Gorder on April 19, 1939.

He had been employed since February 1966 as a janitor for Robert Powers, certified public accountant, and had been janitor from 1958 to 1966 at the Meadville Masonic Building.

Mr. Walker was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.  He was a Naval veteran of WWI and served with the US Army during the Chinese revolution in the late 1920's.

He was a member and past master of Masonic Lodge No. 408, a member and past high priest of Solomon Royal Arch Chapter No. 191, Meadville; a member and past Thrice Illustrious Mast of Hiram Council, New Castle and past member of the Meadville Grange.

Surviving are his widow; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Madge) Airgood of Erie; a brother, Francis of Hubbard, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
